Derrick Gaskins

Derrick is a graduate of Cooperative Arts & Humanities High School in New Haven, CT. I was first introduced to music when I was 2 and learned to play the trombone at the age of 4. I joined the marching band my freshman year and I started playing with the Yale Jazz Orchestra and the Premier Jazz Ensemble of Connecticut my Junior year. I have been awarded full scholarships to both the Yale University for Music Composition and the University of Hartford for Jazz Studies. I see myself scoring movies and moving forward in my musical endeavors.
