Director Ernest R. Goode, Jr. is a native of Suffolk, Virginia that has lived in Texas for 48 years.

He is a veteran of the United States Air Force. Ernest graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington in 1974, with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Director Goode retired from the United States Treasury Department after accumulating a total of 32 years’ service. When he retired in 2001, he was the Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) of Investigations with the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration in Dallas, Texas. In this position, Ernest was responsible for the assignment, coordination, planning, and monitoring of investigative activities’ and other collateral duties performed by 14 Special Agents and other assigned support personnel. He was responsible for the initiation of all investigative activity and the submission of final administrative and criminal reports resulting from allegations and complaints of misconduct against Internal Revenue Service employees working in the North Texas District and the Oklahoma District. He served as the primary liaison person with IRS management officials, other federal and local law enforcement agencies, and judicial officials in six federal judicial districts and the local and state judicial officials in Texas and Oklahoma. Ernest was a Certified Trainer/Instructor for the Treasury Department.

Director Goode has held several leadership positions in the Dallas community and the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. He joined the fraternity in 1972 and was elected as Basileus in 1973. He has continually been financial at all levels since his imitation and he has held several offices in the Theta Alpha Graduate chapter where he was elected Basileus in 1982. His involvement with the International Talent Hunt Program began at the local level where he was a committee member, Master of Ceremonies and Talent Hunt Chair. At the District level he has been a committee member and Master of Ceremonies. Director Goode became a member of the International Talent Hunt Committee in 2005 and he served as the Master of Ceremonies for the following Conclaves: Little Rock; Birmingham; Raleigh; The Centennial Observation; Philadelphia and Milwaukee.

Director Goode is a former member of the Board of Directors, Park South YMCA, Former board member of the Dallas Treasury Credit Union, Treasure of the New Hope Baptist Church for 21 years and has been the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at New Hope Baptist Church for the last six years. Ernest is a member of the Chancel Choir, Sam Seward Male Chorus and is a regular attendee of the Laymen Sunday School Class and the Wednesday noon Bible Study session. .Ernest has been a volunteer/Mentor for students in the Dallas Independent School District for 40 years.
