Director Waters currently is a Program Manager at Young Community Developers (YCD), a non-profit community-based organization in San Francisco, California. Taking a holistic approach to uplifting underserved communities, YCD offers a variety of education, training and employment placement services for residents of the San Francisco Bay area. YCD believes that every individual should have the right to sustainable and generational economic mobility. YCD empowers people and empowered people break cycles of poverty for themselves, their families and their communities.
To that end, Director Waters is directly responsible for the planning and implementation of YCD’s adult training and employment placement services throughout San Francisco, and the corresponding management of associated funding relationships with several city and county agencies. In addition, Director Waters manages YCD’s human resources team, is responsible for YCD’s IT infrastructure at 7 locations, and provides financial support for YCD’s Fiscal Team.
Prior to YCD Director Waters spent 25 years in the high-tech sector, holding several executive level sales, marketing, product management and business development with both Fortune 100 enterprises (AT&T and Ameritech) as well as 7 start-up ventures in the Silicon Valley. He started his working career as an International Commercial Lending Officer in Boston, Massachusetts.
Director Waters is a life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, initiated on September 8, 2001. He has held several leadership positions within our beloved fraternity to include Chapter Keeper of Finance (3 years), Chapter Basileus (4 years). Northern California Area Representative (3 years), Twelfth District Keeper of Finance (3 years), as well as numerous committee chair positions.
Born and raised in Hempstead, New York, Director Waters received his Bachelor of Arts, Economics from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and his Master in Business Administration from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in Boston, Massachusetts.
