Carlton Lampkins, Ed. D

  • Been a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. for 13+ years in the Nu Upsilon Chapter in Wilmington, DE; have held major offices to include Basileus, Vice Basileus, and Assistant to the Vice Basileus at the chapter level, I have served as the chairman/member of  committees to include Scholarship, Toys for Tots, and Talent Hunt, and Social Actions
  • Served as 2nd District Talent Hunt Chairman for 8 years
  • Served as 2nd District Keeper of Records and Seal for 2 terms
  • Served as 2nd District 1st Vice District Representative for 2 terms
  • Serving as a volunteer member of the International Talent Hunt Committee on which I served for 8 years as the 2nd District chairman
  • Serving as a member of the 2nd District Talent Hunt and Life Membership Committees and as the secretary of the International Talent Hunt Foundation 501c3
  • Serving as secretary/treasurer of NU Friendship Outreach, Inc. a 501c3 foundation 
  • Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. – Life Member #5446 & Second District Life Member #44
  • Born and raised in Washington, D.C. – a native Washingtonian
  • Educated in the public schools of Washington, District of Columbia; K – 12
  • Graduated from Eastern High School June 1972 as Class President
  • Received Bachelor of Science degree from Daemen College, Amherst, NY; majored in Biology & Chemistry with minors in Secondary Education and Mathematics
  • Received Master of Arts degree from the University of the District of Columbia; majored in Administration and Supervision
  • Received Doctorate of Education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, VA; majored in Educational Administration with a cognate in Business/Human Resources
  • Other graduate studies at the University of Virginia and at Oxford University in Oxford, England
  • Served as a teacher of middle school science; high school chemistry and mathematics in Rochester, NY and Fairfax, VA
  • Served as a high school assistant principal in Woodbridge, VA and in Arlington, VA; 
  • Served as a middle school principal in Arlington, VA and as a high school principal in Willingboro, NJ
  • Served as Deputy Superintendent in the Colonial School District in New Castle, DE where I also served as Assistant Superintendent, Director of Curriculum and Instruction and as  Director of School Leadership
  • Retired after 36 years as an educator on June 30, 2016, with the last 26 years being in administrative, management, and supervisory roles
  • Highlight of my 36 year career in education is  a two-year teaching assignment at the Carol Morgan School in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
  • Religious affiliation: grew up Baptist but currently a member at Bethel AME Church in Wilmington, DE
  • Hobbies/Interests: love music; learning/speaking Spanish; working with young people; reading; working for Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
